Brett Maxfield Joins QUAD A Board of Directors

Written by QUAD A | Jan 28, 2026

QUAD A is proud to welcome the newest member of our Board of Directors, Brett Maxfield, MS, CRNA. He has worked with QUAD A as an international surveyor since 2021 and now serves as Co-Chair of the QUAD A Standards Committee.

Brett is a graduate of Brigham Young University-Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and is a Registered Nurse. He continued his academic training by earning a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia from the University of Michigan-Flint Anesthesia Program. He has been a CRNA since 2009 and has extensive executive leadership experience in healthcare.

As the current Director of Anesthesia and Surgical Services for Madison Avenue Surgery Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and the President and CEO of Maxfield Healthcare Solutions, an international surgical consulting firm based in Southeastern Idaho, Brett shares his wealth of knowledge and experience to better protect and serve patients' well-being. Brett uses this knowledge and experience to seek out innovative solutions to common and uncommon potential patient risks.

An example of this foresight and dedication, and a testament to his commitment to providing top-quality care, Brett identified potential trigger risks in Malignant Hyperthermia cases, a common condition in the community he serves, and methods to equip offices free of these risks. The facilities he has established are free of these triggers, and patients with MH have peace of mind that their condition, no matter how niche it may be, is being carefully considered in any procedure they undertake. It is this attention to detail that sets Brett apart.

He is an owner in a multi-specialty surgical center in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and an international surveyor. Brett was elected to the QUAD A board in October 2025 and now serves on the QUAD A standards committee as co-chair. He is also an active speaker and guest reviewer for Becker’s Healthcare Review, amongst others. He also enjoys teaching and currently lectures independently and for Twin Oaks Anesthesia Seminars.

Brett is also the current president of the Idaho Ambulatory Surgery Center Association and a panel member of the AANA Reimbursement Technical Advisory Panel. He serves as Chair of the AANA Practice Committee, which reviews and evaluates issues in nursing anesthetics related to the work environment, practice management, and patient safety. The committee is responsible for providing the Board of Directors with recommendations for improving processes and procedures.

QUAD A takes great pride in our leadership team, not only for the guidance they bring, but also for the commitment to excellence they demonstrate in their work. Brett is an example of this hard work and dedication, and QUAD A is fortunate to welcome him as the newest member of our Board of Directors. His insight will further develop our mission to put Patients First. Always.

Since 1980, QUAD A (a non-profit, physician founded and led global accreditation organization) has worked with thousands of healthcare facilities to standardize and improve the quality of health care they provide – believing that patient safety should always come first.
