Elevating Global Patient Safety: QUAD A's Role at IAM 2025 in Dubai

Written by QUAD A | Jun 17, 2025

In QUAD A’s continued mission of promoting patient safety, we were honored to have been invited by the Arab Association of Surgical and Medical Aesthetics (AASMA) and the Emirates Plastic Surgery Society (EPSS) for the third consecutive year to the International Aesthetics Meeting (IAM) in Dubai, UAE. AASMA and EPSS are instrumental partners in safe patient experiences and outcomes in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region.

QUAD A 2025 Standards: What’s New & Why It Counts

For the 2025 IAM conference, our CEO, Tom Terranova, and esteemed board member, Dr. Alberto Arguello, led detailed discussions to ensure that our partners were made aware of not only what had changed but also why these changes were necessary. The MENA Region, as well as Dubai more locally, has specific needs and requirements for its healthcare practices, as do all regions and localities. For this reason, we believe the best practice is to bring the conversation directly to those who are on the frontline. The dedicated physicians, staff, administrators, and others involved in the pursuit of providing the safest care to patients are the biggest difference-makers.

Tom and Dr. Arguello presented and had many one-on-one discussions regarding the particulars of the updated standards. They also assured our partners that we are available to them throughout the early stages of implementation for any questions they may have or clarification they may need, as QUAD A is to all of our partners at any time, for any reason. Additionally, Tom and Dr. Arguello, on behalf of the entire QUAD A team, discussed in full transparency that technical changes and corrections would follow as needed.

At QUAD A we want to prepare our accredited facilities for anything that may come. Our directive is to assist accredited members, not to police them. The best way to be compliant and to provide the best services to patients is to develop a culture of compliance and not to fall into a “survey-ready” mentality. QUAD A is committed to achieving this goal through initiating dialogue, providing information, and remaining available to our facilities.

Gratitude & Ongoing Commitment

The annual IAM event brings together leading experts in aesthetic surgery to share knowledge, advance techniques, and shape the future of the field. QUAD A’s ongoing commitment to patient safety and excellence in accreditation remains at the forefront of everything we do, and the many professionals who share this commitment understand that accreditation is a meaningful step to providing safe and effective care for those patients who entrust us with their well-being.

Our philosophy at QUAD A is Patients First. Always. We are grateful for the opportunity from AASMA and EPSS to contribute to this vital conversation and to continue working toward improving patient outcomes worldwide.
