Elethia DeanElethia Dean, RN, BSN, MBA, PhD

Elethia has more than 30 years experience in the health care industry, including clinical and administrative experience in acute and ambulatory care settings. She held positions as Case Manager/Charge Nurse, Data Analyst for Utilization Management, Instructor and Ambulatory Surgery Center Director of Nursing, CEO and accreditation and Medicare Surveyor. Throughout her
career she has been responsible for Medicare certification, state and accreditation guideline compliance. Her experience in Infection Control, Quality Management, Risk Management and Benchmarking surpasses many in the industry.

Elethia developed ASC Compliance with the goal to equip her clients with the tools necessary to increase efficiency and profitability, while still meeting regulatory requirements in the ambulatory surgery center setting. Elethia’s dissertation for her PhD is
titled Critical Success Factors of Medicare Certified Ambulatory Surgery Centers: A Qualitative Collective Case Study. The information obtained during her research cemented the knowledge that ASCs are facing significant challenges today and must address these critical factors in order to ensure success. The knowledge obtained during the research has been used to help many ASCs pass recent Medicare surveys without deficiencies.

Elethia joined the Quad A team as a surveyor in 2016. She is a surveyor for Outpatient Surgical, Outpatient Procedural, Oral Maxillofacial, Pediatric Dentistry, Rural Health Clinics, and Ambulatory Surgery Centers. She completes both accreditation as well as Medicare surveys for Quad A and is a member of the Standards Committee, assisting in Quad A's Gold Standard for Accreditation and the Global Accreditation Authority.

Elethia is a registered nurse. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Youngstown State University, Youngstown, Ohio. She also received a Masters in Business Administration, focusing in Economics and Health Administration, from Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan. She also has a PhD in Business, focusing in Organizational Management, graduating with a 4.0 GPA.

She is a member of AORN, APIC, ASOA, ASORN and has presented at local, regional and national meetings on ASC business management and clinical issues. She has written numerous articles for Outpatient Surgery Magazine, Administrative Eyecare, as well as scholarly articles published in Insight, Journal of the American Society of Ophthalmic Registered Nurses. She is also a reviewer for The Bulletin, the scholarly journal of the World Health Organization.
