Accredited and Future Facilities CMS Burden Reduction Standard Updates

To all QUAD A CMS ASC, OPT & RHC accredited facilities and new applicants:

On September 30, 2019 and November 15, 2019, CMS published final rules to reform Medicare regulations identified as unnecessary, obsolete, or excessively burdensome on health care providers and suppliers, including ASCs, RHCs, and OPTs. As indicated in earlier QUAD A announcements, QUAD A was required to submit standards revisions for CMS approval prior to implementing any proposed revisions. As part of our CMS-approved ASC, RHC and OPT accreditation programs, QUAD A has modified its standards accordingly and recently obtained approval of these changes from CMS.

The revised standards are now published on the QUAD A website, along with a standards change document, outlining the revisions. Please note, the changes made in these standards constitute reduced requirement from previous versions and do not require anything additional from your facility. As anticipated, these changes take effect March 2, 2020.
