Accreditation brings high standards of care and patient safety into the daily operations of your healthcare facility. Before your facility can achieve accreditation, you must first undergo an onsite survey to determine compliance and identify areas for improvement.
By partnering with QUAD A, your facility will receive extensive support and clarity, ensuring there are no surprises as you prepare for a successful accreditation survey.
Survey Preparation with Your QUAD A Accreditation Specialist
No two healthcare facilities are alike. Accreditation is a unique experience for every facility. That’s why QUAD A provides individualized support from a dedicated accreditation specialist for each facility pursuing accreditation.
Your specialist will assist you throughout the accreditation process, answering questions you may have about your facility, your program’s standards, the next steps, and more. They can also guide you to additional resources that may help prepare you for your accreditation survey.
Expert Support at Every Step
You may have complex questions about your facility’s requirements that fall outside of your accreditation specialist’s knowledge. In these cases, our specialists rely on the clinical expertise of our experienced QUAD A team members.
QUAD A’s team includes nurses, doctors, and volunteer committees that are eager to provide additional support, free of charge. These same resources remain available after your accreditation survey, as well.
Access Your Program’s Standards Manual
Each of QUAD A’s accreditation programs are based on standards that were developed and vetted by leaders in the healthcare industry. You can see the standards that apply to your facility in full in your program’s standards manual.
QUAD A program standard manuals are helpful resources as you prepare for your accreditation survey. The manuals ensure that you know the exact criteria on which your facility will be inspected. Your QUAD A surveyor will use the relevant manual as a checklist while conducting your accreditation survey, judging your facility as either compliant or noncompliant with each standard.
Survey Outcomes
QUAD A is unique in that we require healthcare facilities to demonstrate 100% compliance with their program’s standards manual at the time of the initial survey in order to achieve accreditation.
Most facilities identify areas for improvement during the initial survey. This is a valuable part of the process.
You will have an opportunity to correct these areas of deficiency with a Plan(s) of Correction before a final determination is made regarding your facility’s accreditation status.
Survey Outline
As part of survey preparation, you will also receive a survey outline. This outline will help you understand the survey process, what staff members to have available on the date of your onsite survey, and the information you will be asked to provide to your surveyor.
The survey outline provides greater detail of the full process. You can expect your QUAD A surveyor to thoroughly investigate:
-
Your facility itself
-
Your facility’s staff, their credentials, and their training
-
Your facility’s care practices and procedures
-
Your facility’s equipment
-
Your facility’s plan in case of an emergency
What to Expect During Your Survey
QUAD A’s surveyors are certified healthcare professionals. Surveyors have a breadth of experience in your industry, so you will benefit from an educated and experienced approach to promote compliance.
Even where your facility is compliant, your surveyor may offer tips or suggestions that make compliance with best practices easier. These tips may help improve your daily operations and make your organization more efficient.
On the day of your survey, your QUAD A surveyor will conduct an introductory meeting to detail their approach to the inspection. They will then take a tour to appraise your facility, aspects of care as they relate to your program standards, and observe staff as they go about their daily routines.
With support from your accreditation specialist, the extended QUAD A team, and resources like your program’s standards manual and the survey outline, you will be well prepared to take an active role in your onsite accreditation survey.
