The newly accredited clinic joins the ranks of leading healthcare facilities that put patients first, always.
Orange County, CA – Orange County’s Lestonnac Free Clinic recently achieved accreditation by QUAD A, the non-profit, global accreditation authority. This accreditation, provided pro bono by QUAD A, demonstrates the clinic’s dedication to patient safety, regardless of the patient’s ability to pay. By removing costs from the equation, QUAD A and Lestonnac Free Clinic are reimagining what quality, accessible healthcare could look like in the United States.
Lestonnac Free Clinic is one of the country's only privately funded, free surgical centers, providing uninsured patients with dignity and access to high-quality care. “I was once a patient at Lestonnac, so I know firsthand the impact of this place,” says Ed Gerber, now CEO of Lestonnac Clinic. “For many patients, the choice comes to a meal or healthcare. We’re here to remove that impossible choice, offering free, uncompromised, quality care. With 300 volunteer doctors, including top specialists, we’re delivering life-changing treatment. Accreditation from QUAD A is a testament that every patient here receives safe, respectful care.”
The clinic’s upcoming expansion will deliver comprehensive surgical services, from trauma care to specialized treatments—all led by a dedicated team that includes top specialists in fields like oral surgery, gastroenterology, and ophthalmology.
Courtney Harrison, RN, Director of Surgical Services at Lestonnac, added, “At Lestonnac, our mission has always been to provide superior care, no matter a patient’s income. We’ve invested in a beautiful facility, but accreditation is about more than just a space. It’s about ensuring our protocols align with the highest standards of care. It’s about maintaining the integrity of our profession and delivering safe, quality care — because every patient deserves it.”
QUAD A, renowned for helping thousands of healthcare facilities commit to high standards of care, fully aligns with this mission. “We’re here to make a difference where it matters,” says Tom Terranova, CEO of QUAD A. “Accrediting Lestonnac Clinic pro bono means backing their mission and making safety and quality care standards a given, no matter who the patient is. This is a great example of accessible healthcare in action.”
With this accreditation, QUAD A and Lestonnac Free Clinic are challenging healthcare norms, demonstrating that high-quality care can — and should — be accessible to everyone.
