QUAD A is proud to share that Dr. Foad Nahai, an original board of directors member and renowned plastic surgeon, has been recognized for outstanding contributions by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS).
At the 2025 ISAPS Olympiad World Congress, ISAPS introduced the Foad Nahai Award for Patient Safety, an award presented to individuals who promote patient safety and publish impactful, peer-reviewed work in the field of aesthetic care.
Granted to physicians who prioritize patient safety and remain at the forefront of research on safe and effective aesthetic plastic surgery care, the inaugural recipient, Dr. Matilde Tettamanzi, was presented with the award for her work, "Optimizing Gynecomastia Correction Surgery: Efficacy and Safety of Tumescent Local Anesthesia Approach."
Her research exemplifies the four pillars of Dr. Nahai's Patient Safety Diamond initiative: procedure, patient, surgeon, and surgical setting. Dr. Nahai developed the Patient Safety Diamond to address the need for a global framework for aesthetic plastic surgery providers, especially with the increased medical tourism for procedures during the time of its creation. In his writing, Dr. Nahai developed the four-pillar concept to organize and create focused standards for the patient, the procedure, the surgeon, and the facility. Dr. Nahai found that legitimate board-certified specialists deserved a designation that separated them from providers who were “untrained, poorly trained, or non-surgeons who claim to be aesthetic surgeons.”
Dr. Nahai’s most recent recognition is a testament to his long-time commitment to patient safety and cutting-edge standardization in aesthetic plastic surgery. QUAD A is honored to have Dr. Nahai on our board and to have the good fortune of working with him for decades. His dedication to patient safety reflects the mission of QUAD A and our work. Dr. Nahai is an example of a responsible care provider and has been recognized internationally for his expertise and contributions in the field.
